Over 2,5 million passengers passed through Palma Son Sant Joan airport last month, setting a new record for the Majorcan airport.
alma.—According to airport authority AENA, which revealed the figures yesterday, the numbers represent a 0.1 percent increase from May the previous year.
The number of flights also increased by 1.5 percent.
Over 16 percent of passengers arrived aboard flights from mainland Spain, 16.6 percent more than during the same period in 2013.
Ibiza’s figures were also released yesterday and they too confirmed signs that the Summer season has finally kicked started.
The number of flights arriving and departing from Ibiza went up by nine percent while passenger levels rose by 10.4 percent, representing 601,426 travellers.
