Palma.—Over the past few days, the Balearic President, Jose Ramon Bauza, has been holding talks with all of the region’s mayors to encourage them to invest more effort into providing quality tourism.
Bauza’s message is that, now that recession is over and that the Balearic tourist industry is back to enjoying record summer seasons, the local industry can now focus on reestablishing the Balearics as one of the world’s best holiday destinations.
But, as far as Bauza and the Minister for Tourism, Jaime Martinez, are concerned the key is quality as opposed to quantity.
“Much has changed in the industry over the past three years and now we have to set about recuperating our primary industry,” Bauza said.
“Low quality tourism is a financial burden”
