Palma.—The Balearics looked on course yesterday for a new teaching dispute which could hit the start of the autumn term.
The local ministry for Education announced that all schools would have to teach the new three language curriculum (English, Spanish and Catalan) and even those schools which had declined the new education system would have to follow ministry guidelines.
The local ministry for education denied that they were “forcing” schools to accept the new teaching plan but opposition groups in the Balearic Parliament accused the Balearic Government of “imposing the curriculum on local schools.”
