Palma.—A 67-year-old British motorcyclist died yesterday after being involved in an accident with a quad bike driven by a 22-year-old Dutch holiday maker who was in hospital in a critical condition last night.
The crash happened at 4pm on the Andratx motorway just 200 metres before the Portals Nous exit.
According to the Guardia Civil’s initial investigation, one of three Dutch holiday makers driving rented quad bikes, lost control of his vehicle and ran into the back of the powerful scooter the Briton was driving.
The scooter and the Briton were apparently sent sprawling across the motorway. Calvia Local Police, the Guardia Civil and a number of ambulances rushed to the scene but there was sadly nothing that paramedics could have done to have saved the life of the Briton.
He was proclaimed dead at the scene.
