Hotel rates in the Balearics have risen sharply this year and are now the highest in the country, according to the latest Hotel Price Index survey.

Palma.—The report, published yesterday, reveals that visitors coming to the Balearics are having to pay the highest average hotel room rates and that those rates have also risen sharply over the course of this year.
According to the Hotel Price Index survey carried out by Hoteles.com, Ibiza is the most expensive destination inSpain to stay in a hotel with average room rates of around 163 euros per night, a rise of 22 percent in comparison to last year. The national average hotel rate is 107 euros and according to the conclusions to the survey, Balearic hoteliers have been making the most of the high level of demand for accommodation in the Balearics and that the region boasts one of the “most famous and fashionable islands in the world, Ibiza”.
This year, the island has been flooded by the rich and famous, Madonna even celebrated her birthday in Ibiza with an all-star party.
