All residents in Spain will have to retune their television channels on 26 October, both those who receive their signal digitally and those who don’t.
TV channels will soon enter the process of changing frequency, but according to Ministry of Industry sources, will offer a “grace period” where they will broad cast in both the new and old frequency at the same time.
By 1 January 2015 that process will be completed and those who fail to retune their channels before that date will no longer be able to see their favourite TV channels.
The department encouraged citizens who live in buildings sharing a common antenna to call their electrician “as soon as possible”.
Citizens who live in medium or large building, usually equipped with a single channel or programmed central unit, will also have to be aware other major changes might be necessary.
