Two men of Spanish nationality were this week arrested by the Guardia Civil, accused of a series of robberies in Puerto Alcudia. The suspects are accused of robbing three venues in the area, including a local bar where they allegedly stole the earnings from the fruit machines.
The two were spotted by officers leaving one of the venues in the early hours of last Wednesday and then proceeded to arrest one of them identified as M.L.G, a resident in Santa Margalida. The second suspect, identified as D.M.T, managed to escape but his break away was short lived as the Guardia Civil caught him in Can Picafort, where he escaped to by taxi. The authorities managed to recover some of the money stolen as well as the tools allegedly used to break into the venues. Both the accused have criminal records and are facing criminal charges. D.M.T, was told by an Inca judge he will await trial in prison.
