Palma.—At the end of September, Balearic public debt stood at 7,597 million euros and, once the 116 millions euros in debt which has been run up by public companies has been added, the total level of debt was 7,700 million euros.
The figure is a new record and nearly 3,000 million euros more than the debt of 4,883 million euros left behind by the previous left-wing coalition government in June, 2011.
The increase in public debt has been 55 percent over three years.
