Jeremy Kyle’s new series The Kyle Files this week tackles the problem of young drinkers and this is the episode which features him being pepper sprayed in Magalluf. The prime time ITV1 series began two weeks ago and went head to head against EastEnders on a Thursday evening at 8.30pm Spanish time.
So far, Kyle has dealt with legal highs and knife crime pulling in an audience of 3.1 million viewers and the reviews have been mixed.
However, this week’s episode is expected to attract more viewers because it was during the filming of the documentary that he came to Magalluf, right at the height of the sex for alcohol games scandal and famously got pepper sprayed by a nightclub bouncer who did not what the presenter and his crew on the premises “because he was giving Magalluf a bad name.”
After that incident, Kyle and his crew made a swift exit from Magalluf and the presenter, from Majorca.
According to the ITVpress office, ‘young drinkers’ looks into the lurid headlines about youngsters drinking to excess which have led to a perception that young British people have a problem with alcohol.
Kyle speaks to police and ambulance services who clear up afterwards, visits party mecca Magalluf, and back in the UK uses undercover reporters to find out how straightforward it is to get served underage.
Thursday will see footage of the incident broadcast for the first time since the infamous chat show host was attacked while filming an exposé of the island resort.
