Palma.—The countdown is well and truly underway to the fourth Majorca Football Tournament for security personnel in Santa Ponsa this year and this week, Harry Engels, the Vice-president of the World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament, which celebrated its 32nd edition last year in Holland, has been in Majorca finalising preparations for the massive international festival of football which kicks off on 7 May.
Already, over 1,000 members of the security services are signed up for the main event with the numbers still rising, but Harry is now calling on local amateur teams to play in the international five-a-side tournament which will be running simultaneously with the government employee tournament in Santa Ponsa.
There are three categories for the amateurs, the regular men’s tournament, the men’s over 35 age group and the women’s tournament.
