The British Ambassador to Spain, Simon Manley and the Consul General, Andrew Gwatkin, yesterday visited the Palma Boat Show to support the scores of British companies exhibiting at this year’s event. This year’s boat show, which was opened yesterday morning by the President of the Balearics, Jose Ramon Bauza, is one of the largest in recent years and some 60 percent of the companies on show are British with many  based either in Majorca or the Balearics at large.
Manley and Gwatkin, were given a tour of the show by the Managing Editor of the Majorca Daily Bulletin, Jason Moore, and were extremely impressed with what they saw.
One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to  Mood Beach and Baxter Marine Pearl Yachts stands where the owner of both businesses, Margaret Whittacker OBE and the Managing Director of Pearl Yachts, which are British built, designed and owned, Iain Smallridge, were on hand to greet  Manley and Gwatkin and give them a personal  tour of one of  the award winning Pearl yachts. Pearl Yachts have two luxury vessels on show this week, a Pearl 65 and a Pearl 75 and this evening  at the stand on quay 2 is a cocktail party which is open to all starting at 7.30pm.
