An 18-year-old has been taken into custody by police in Palma after allegedly threatening to stab his mother because her meatballs were not to his liking.
Officers from Spain’s national police force arrested the teenager, identified as José Manuel G.V for apparently threatening his mother with a kitchen knife because he did not want to eat her meatballs.
“I don’t want this food, give me money so I can eat out or I’ll stab you,” the teenager apparently told his mother, according to police sources.
José Manuel G.V is accused of insulting and threatening his mother in their house in calle Tomas Forteza.
According to police sources José Manuel asked his mother what was for dinner. She replied that she had prepared some “albondigas” - Spanish meatballs - or if he preferred, she could cook him some chops.
He then exploded, shouting that he did not want the food and demanded his mother give him some money to eat out or else he would allegedly stab her.
His mother gave him €10 and left the house.
When she returned a few minutes later, she saw that her son had made himself a sandwich and accused him of taking her money to pay for “marijuana” or to “gamble at the local casino”.
The teenager then verbally attacked his mother yet again.
His mother is currently considering taking out a restraining order on her own son who has a police record for similar incidents.
