Hugh Laurie will be leading an all star cast to Majorca next week when location filming for The Night Manager begins to roll.Hugh Laurie this week confessed that he always saw himself playing the dashing young hero in the six part series which is being filmed for the BBC and the USmarket and is being directed by the Oscar winning Susanne Beir.
The Blackadder and House star will appear opposite Tom Hiddleston, who also arrives in Majorca next week, Olivia Colman, the BAFTA winning ac tress from Broadchurch and David Harewood.
Laurie revealed: “It’s something I wanted to be involved in ever since it came out. And when I first read it I imagined myself as the young stud.
“But of course now I’m the villain and the wonderful Tom Hiddleston is the young stud.”
The series is currently in production and is due to air next year. Laurie said: “It’s great. It’s a wonderful experience, we’re having a good time, we’re about half-way through (filming) now.”
The series also counts Tom Hollander, Katherine Kelly and Neil Morrissey among the cast.
Palma Pictures are facilitating the production on the island for producers Ink Factory and AMC and the cast is going be spending at least five weeks filming at various locations on the island.
