It is understood that the British Embassy in Madrid has asked the Spanish government for another extension for UK drivers resident Spain.
The latest in a string of extension runs out at the end of this month and if that deadline remains, then British residents who failed to swap their UK driving licence for a Spanish one before the original deadline set by the Spanish as a result of Brexit, will have to sit a Spanish driving test.

The answers from Spain should be NO. Change it or retake your test. If you live more than six months in a year in many EU countries, you areobliged to change your license. Many British have lived under the radar far too long. They voted Brexit now honour up to it. It's about deciding where you live UK or Spain. If it's Spain pay your taxes here and follow the law as you should. No exceptions.
There's only a problem for the tax-dodging illegal immigrants living in Spain up until Brexit. They lived under the radar, and didn't even become residents until they had no choice. They've had years to shange their licences to Spanish, simply and cheaply, but didn't want to become legal here in case they had to pay taxes. Brexit had made them become residents, and some even change their licences on time, but still are tax-dodgers, whinging as the law and threats of fines make them twitch and speak in a low voice....
