Don't take my word for it. It was a huge thing. 50 million paid out to Brits for fake claims. Was all over the media. But banning one specific nationality is hugely problematic, even if it was solely one nationality involved. And that's why it never happened. https://metro.co.uk/2017/05/03/brits-face-ban-from-mallorca-all-inclusive-holidays-due-to-food-poisoning-scam-6612338/ Banning Brits from balconies is equally problematic, even if it is pretty much a British thing.
Simple solution, you can't travel unless your IQ is over 120. That isn't a high benchmark but it would stop about 90% of the people who currently go to Magaluf from travelling.
Morgan WilliamsI know it won't be popular as far too many Brits are very good at complaining, having a big chip on their shoulders, most of the times blaming everyone else except themselves. Still you usually try to mitigate disaster, and if that saves live, with people who don't understand what a balcony is suppose to be used for, it might be worth taking "the fury and outrage". It's not a punishment, it's for their own safety.
Ulla JacksonI don't think banning "balconies" by nationality would fly very well. Certainly "fury and outrage" material, abusing innocent Brits again. Mallorca considered banning Brits from all-in during the great British all-inclusive food poisoning scam, but in the end, it was a nonstarter, and would have most certainly been met with "fury and outrage" over yet another unfair punishment, since all-in is a like a religion to many Brits.
How about make sure no Brits have room with a balcony. They obviously not used to them at home.
I would like to think I had some sympathy, but I really don't. I am sick if these drugged up idiots balconying and giving Brits a bad name.
The gene pool full of idiots is never ending it seems!
There's a pattern here. All these balcony-related incidents are acted by adults behaving like children. And usually in the early hours. What steps could hoteliers take to prevent this stupidity? Lock the balcony doors? Warning signs in rooms? CCTV focussed on the balconies? Night patrols? Glassed-in balconies? Should hoteliers be taking steps or just allow their guests to leap if they want to?
