The volume of bookings in the last week on the islands represents an increase of 39.8% compared to the same period last year and a growth of 81.5% from January to 23 October this year compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the data from 16 to 23 October, 15.2% of bookings were made between 15 days and 30 days in advance of the holiday, 15.2% more than three months in advance, 15% at the “last minute” (less than one day) and 8% at the “last minute” (2-3 days).
Of the bookings registered in the last few days in Spain, 44.4% were made by couples and half of the travellers (47%) booked between 2 and 5 nights, according to TravelgateX.
Domestic tourism predominates: among the main nationalities that have made reservations to Spain during the last 7 days through the TravelgateX platform, Spaniards account for 61.3 %, followed by the British 12.6 % and, at a great distance, Germans and Italians with 2.9 and 2.6 %, respectively.
Over the weekend, Palma was heaving with British tourists obviously keen to make the most of the far better weather than back in the UK and the cooler temperatures which is good news for low season tourism.

@ Lisa Julia. The Flight you mention is part of the End of Season increases at the end of October and beginning of November. The Tour Operators deliberately increase Flight costs because most people are returning from working the Season. They do this every year. But if you look at earlier Flight costs and later costs. You will see they are much cheaper based on much less Passenger demand . Until you reach near Christmas and the New Year. When the demand is much higher.
Well, the ‘better in winter slogan’ was a bit … rubbish. Two major issues: lack of flights (numbers collapsing approaching Xmas) and huge cost. Looking at a flight (one way) Sunday November 5 at 300 euro plus … eeek!!! Cheaper to fly to the US. And that ladies and gentlemen is why winter in Mallorca is never better - not to mention the weather :(
To continue the British Surge of Bookings into the Winter. More attractions are needed. Plus staff to operate them.
this week.
