Britons are the most satisfied visitors to Spain

The study notes that the number of tourists who say they are “very satisfied” with their trip has risen from 62.7% in 2022 to 65% last year. By nationality, the tourists most satisfied with their holidays in Spain are those from the United Kingdom (4.72 points out of 5 and a percentage of “very satisfied” of 74%), followed by visitors from various Latin American countries (4.70 points and 72%).

In third place are the Polish (4.69 points and 71.2%), followed by visitors from the United States (4.67 points and 71.9%), a long-haul market with considerable purchasing power and which in 2023 experienced a very significant increase in both arrivals and spending. For the Minister of Industry and Tourism Jordi Hereu, the conclusions of the survey reflect Spain’s leadership as a “sustainable, safe and excellent global destination”.

Hereu also highlighted the high levels of loyalty among international tourists: “Those who visit Spain repeat. They do so because of the quality and diversity of the leisure offer, its avant-garde gastronomy and restaurants, and the magnificent transport network that links the different regions and communities.”

The survey reveals that 78% of tourists who came to Spain in 2023 had already been at least once. Furthermore, 65.9% said they planned to return in the next 12 months, compared to 57.69% in 2022.
Asked about the reasons for choosing Spain over other destinations, the climate is the main attraction for 26% of tourists, followed by culture (15.7%) and visiting family and friends (12.6%).

The study also distinguishes satisfaction according to the tourist’s gender and level of studies.
Women say that they were more satisfied after their trip to Spain than men: 4.64 points of overall satisfaction compared to 4.60.
