Palma has been included in Lonely Planet’s prestigious ‘Best in Travel 2025’ list as one of the 30 best destinations to travel to next year. This recognition highlights Palma’s firm commitment to sustainability and reinforces its image as a responsible tourist destination. Likewise, Lonely Planet also highlights the vibrant gastronomic and artistic scene, the rich heritage of local crafts, the historical monuments and the expected inauguration of the promenade in 2025.

The renowned guide has also valued the balance between tourist and resident and the dynamism of the city 365 days a year in order to place Palma as one of the best destinations in the world. The Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Culture and Sports of Palma City Council, Javier Bonet, stressed that “we at the City Council are very grateful and satisfied with this recognition, which undoubtedly encourages us to continue working along the same lines: to consolidate Palma as an urban, cosmopolitan and sustainable destination 365 days a year. Likewise, this award is a true recognition of the tourism strategy launched 12 years ago, based on culture, gastronomy, sport and sustainability as its main axes”.
